Meet our Director of Member Experience, José Luis Márquez, a dedicated professional with a strong passion for working with youth. With over 18 years of experience working with youth, José brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team.

Before joining the Boys & Girls Club movement in 2018, José had a background in coaching youth sports and working with at-risk youth, which has given him a unique perspective on the importance of teamwork, leadership, and mentorship. He first joined the United Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County as an Athletic Area Director, where he quickly proved his commitment to providing exceptional experiences for our members.

Due to his exceptional work, José was promoted to Club Director, where he continued to make a difference in the lives of local club members. In 2021, José moved to the Bay Area and joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of Contra Costa County as a Site Director. His leadership and dedication to our mission quickly caught the attention of our organization, and we are proud that José is now our Director of Member Experience.

He is passionate about creating safe, inclusive, and fun spaces for our members to learn, grow, and thrive.
